The Sake Certification Exam

Exam

Hello, this is Mana!

Recently, I have completely fallen in love with the charm of sake and wanted to learn more about it. So, I researched the “Sake Certification Exam.” Today, I’d like to share its appeal and how to take the exam.

My Encounter with Sake – A Memorable Experience While Traveling

Actually, I had hardly ever drunk sake before. I preferred wine or cocktails and had the impression that sake was a bit difficult to approach. However, that perception completely changed when I visited a small sake brewery during my trip last year.

By chance, I stopped by this brewery, which offered a guided tour explaining the process and history of sake brewing in detail. The Toji (master brewer) who guided us spoke passionately about sake, which left a strong impression on me. I was amazed by the depth of this world. Then, at the end of the tour, I got to taste the sake, and it was truly shocking!

The moment I took a sip, the gentle sweetness of the rice and the fragrant aroma spread in my mouth, surprising me. “Is this really sake!? It’s so delicious!” I was deeply moved. From that moment, I wanted to learn more about sake, and that’s how I discovered the Sake Certification Exam.
